Myrtle McGregor was born Myrtle Roach in 1916 in the mountains of Campbell County Tennessee. She was born prematurely, weighing about three pounds at birth. Her mother kept her warm on a small pillow in front of a wood stove. She was only educated through the third grade in a one room school house a few miles from her home. Her life wasc haracterized by kindness, intelligence, hard work and common wisdom. Those who grew up under her parenting were sucessful in their university education, careers and family lives. This video was shown at her funeral ceremony and distributed to members of her family.
